Alon Ilsar
The Air Sticks combine the physicality of drumming with the unlimited possibilities of computer music, taking the practice of real-time electronic music to a new realm. The Air Sticks are the brainchild of drummer/ electronic producer Alon Ilsar and computer programmer/ composer Mark Havryliv. The ingenious software development of Mark has enabled Alon to transform off-the-shelf gaming controllers into a unique musical instrument.
Beyond the Lake saw this as a unique opportunity to create improvised music in real time with Alon, and the perfect moment to do so was to invite him to collaborate with us on this next album.
